Reason number one – you get exposure. We’ve all heard it before. Any exposure is good exposure and that is true. If someone is searching online and finds a review of your business it means you exist. Any exposure is good exposure.
Reason #2
Google loves reviews. So someone that has 20 reviews is way more likely to show up in search then someone that might have one review. Well that’s the way the algorithm leans. The more reviews the better. So you’re more likelihood to show up when people are searching for the product or service you sell.
Reason #3
The third reason why Google reviews are good for local business is it increases engagement. If someone posted a review you should be responding to that review. Asking questions about what they thought. Whether it was good or bad and get to know them a little bit. If it’s just a nice review you could say thank you for the nice review. If they have an issue or concern you can ask questions about it and learn more about what their problem was and get to the bottom of it. Maybe you can even fix it if it’s a negative review.

The fourth reason which goes along with reason number three is when you get to the bottom of the problem maybe you’ll find out that the customer was right and there was a problem with your restaurant. Gives you a chance to fix that problem. So your staff member had a beard down to his knees and the food, his beard was in their food. Well you can get the guy to shave it. you can learn what the problems are and fix what your problems are by people telling you what the issues are.

The fifth reason why negative Google reviews are good for local business is going in line with the third and fourth reason. The threat of a negative review keeps you on your toes. Because it’s an open world nowadays. People can find you on Facebook and Twitter and Google and leave all kinds of good and positive comments. It’s just part of the way we do business nowadays. So knowing that it’s a good way to keep you on your toes. Keeps staff on their toes. It keeps you in check and it’s a great way to keep your business going strong.
Reason #6
Now my favorite. The last one. The sixth reason. If you’ve built up a loyal fan base and there’s a negative review left your fans will come to your defense. Doesn’t matter whether the negative review was right or wrong. Your fans will rise to the surface and come to your defense and talk about your brand and tell you how amazing you are. So it puts, it dampens the negative effect of that negative review. So it’s ok it’s ok to have a negative review. Whether it’s right or wrong because your fans will come to your defense and they will talk about you and support you. So don’t worry. If you’re left a negative review. Because you’re loyal fans will come to your defense and turn it into a positive thing. It really really does work.
So those are my six reasons why negative Google reviews are good for your local business. So don’t worry about them too much. They’re good for your business. When you get them, embrace them, deal with them and move on and you’ll create way more positive stuff out of those negative reviews anyways. We’ll see you in the next video.
